Water damage
This client had a water tank leak in the loft above her bedroom, I had to remove the damaged ceiling and fit new plasterboard into the gap, then blend in the area with filler and then painted the entire ceiling to eliminate any ceiling colour differences.
Services concealment
Hiding away unsightly gas meters or electric meters can help with the overall look of a room.
This unit was built from scratch.
Water damaged ceilings
Any kind of water leak can leave unsightly damage and if left will cause paint peel and even mold ingress.
Although the original damage was smaller than shown the entire area has to be removed as far as where the paint has bubbled, It always looks worse at the beginning but its the only way of ensuring the job is done correctly and there's no more damaged areas which could come back a few months later.
Black mold issues
Over recent years, black mould has really been thrown to the forefront by the media and many tenanted properties can suffer from it. Lack of good ventilation or airflow is one of the main causes and this can be down to a number of factors such as faulty or out of date extractor fans in kitchens and bathrooms, or even simply the lack of open windows during showering or cooking. And of course water leaks left un checked and un treated.
Extractor fans
Although in essence this sounds basic but the amount of extractors which aren't cleaned periodically during the year is staggering. If not cleaned it will lead to dust and dirt build ups which lessen the fans effect of removing moisture from a room.
A lot of older properties will have outdated inefficient fans that do not do their job properly anymore, so a simple retro fit of an up to date modern fan can solve a lot of condensation and damp issues within a home.
